This is a method for obtaining a "Green Card" which is evidence of Permanent Residence in the United States. Its advantages are that one can work anywhere in the US for any employer or indeed, not work at all.
Requirements
Investing
the sum of $1000,000 in a troubled enterprise so as to create full-time
employment for at least 10 US citizens or permanent residents
Alternatively
an investment of $500,000 is acceptable in a rural area or one of high
unemployment.
However there are schemes which require must less investment than the above and are investments secured on promissory notes. They usually require net assets of at least $500,000 ( which can include ones own home) and permanent residence can be obtained in approximately 6 months.
