This visa class is for temporary workers performing services unavailable in the U.S. Duration is one year with extensions available for total of 3 years. Entertainers and athletes not qualifying for other classifications may pursue H-2B status. The employer must undergo a modified labor certification process to show unavailability of qualified U.S. workers. A high number of denials are made in applications for H-2B status.
